What is DIR®/Floortime Therapy?

DIR® (Developmental, Individual-differences, Relationship-based) is a model developed by Dr. Stanley Greenspan and Dr. Serena Wieder. Floortime is the practical application of this model, involving engaging children through play at their developmental level to build upon their strengths and abilities.

This therapy focuses on:

  • Emotional and social development
  • Understanding individual sensory and motor profiles
  • Building strong, trusting relationships

By meeting children at their current developmental stage and encouraging interaction through play, DIR®/Floortime promotes growth in communication, emotional regulation, and problem-solving skills.
