4. Emails
- We only send marketing emails if you’ve opted in. We use an email service provider to manage them.
- Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time, by using that link or by contacting us.
- Unsubscribing doesn’t stop essential emails, such as purchase receipts and course-access messages.
5. Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the website and courses, and only as much as they need:
- Stripe — to process payments.
- Cloudways — to host our website and courses, which run on WordPress and LearnDash. This includes the course videos, which are hosted on our own site.
- Cloudflare — for site performance and security.
- Google — Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, for usage statistics (section 6).
- Our email service provider — to send emails you’ve agreed to receive.
- Professional advisers and authorities — where the law requires it, or to protect our legal rights.
Each provider may use your information only to provide its service to us.
6. Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. We use three kinds:
- Essential cookies keep the site working. They keep you logged in, remember your course progress, and protect the site and checkout from abuse. These are set by WordPress, LearnDash, Stripe and Cloudflare. They can’t be switched off.
- Analytics cookies tell us how people use the site — which pages are visited, and how people find us — so we can improve it. These are set by Google Analytics.
- Marketing cookies let us measure whether our ads work, if we advertise. These are set by Google or other advertising platforms.
Your choice. When you first visit, a cookie banner asks whether to allow analytics and marketing cookies. They are only set if you agree. You can change your choice at any time with at the foot of every page, or clear cookies in your browser settings.
7. Overseas transfers
We are based in Australia. Some of our providers store or process information in other countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom and countries in the European Union.
When your information goes overseas, we use reputable providers that protect it to a standard comparable to Australian law. For UK and EU information, this means recognised safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your information only for as long as we need it:
- Your account: while you have an account or course access.
- Financial records: for at least 5 years, as Australian tax law requires.
After that, we delete it or make it anonymous.
9. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- correct it
- delete it
Depending on where you live, you may also be able to:
- object to some uses, or restrict them
- withdraw your consent at any time
- receive your data in a portable format
To make a request, email [email protected]. We’ll respond within the time the law requires — within 30 days.
Complaints. If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. If you’re not satisfied, you can complain to the regulator where you live:
- Australia: the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), oaic.gov.au
- UK: the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
- EU: your local data protection authority
10. Children
Our courses are for parents and carers aged 18 and over, not for children. We don’t knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
The courses are about young children, but we don’t ask for your child’s name or details. Anything you choose to tell us about your child stays with your account and is used only to support your use of the courses. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we use reputable providers that do the same. No online service can be completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
12. Other websites
Our site and courses may link to websites we don’t control. This policy doesn’t cover them; please read their own privacy policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, is always on our website. We’ll tell you about significant changes where appropriate.
